Setting up an exchange account

For Selltix to trade, an exchange needs three things: an open and funded futures account, an API key without withdrawal and USDT on that account. On most exchanges the default settings are fine.

Some exchanges have account settings that decide how many trades Selltix can take and how margin is counted. Those exchanges have their own pages here with the recommended values.

The same on every exchange

  • A separate account (or sub-account) for Selltix. Do not trade the same coins on it by hand: Selltix compares the exchange's positions with its own and reports a mismatch.
  • Stablecoins only as collateral: USDT and USDC. Selltix trades USDT perpetuals (Hyperliquid settles in USDC) and sizes a trade from the account's balance. Other coins used as collateral make the balance move with their price. Where the exchange lets you choose collateral coins, keep USDT and USDC and untick the rest.
  • Selltix sets leverage and margin mode itself, per coin, before its first trade. Do not change them by hand, and never while a position is open: the exchange will refuse the next order or change the position's margin.
  • Position mode: hedge, where the exchange has it. In hedge mode a long and a short on one coin are two separate positions. Selltix also works in one-way mode, but then it will not take a trade that has to buy a coin where another trade has sold it. The mode can be switched only with no open positions or orders. Check it and set it by hand in the exchange's settings, even where it is the default: Selltix does not switch it, it only reads it.
  • The exchange's automatic products are off: auto-borrow, auto-repay, earn on idle funds, copy trading, bots. They move the balance and positions without Selltix knowing.

Exchanges with their own page

Pages for other exchanges are added as they are checked. If your exchange has no page, the rules above and the key guide are enough.

TIP

Exchange menus change. If an item is named differently, go by what the setting means.
